OUR LOVE STORY
Terry and I started dating in Keego Harbor while I was a surgical resident and Terry was working as a high angle confined space rescue tech. The first few months of our relationship was an adventure, as Terry was travelling across the country for work sometimes for weeks at a time. At the same time I started my chief year at St Joes and was interviewing everywhere for a fellowship position (Terry did keep me company on some interviews). Despite crazy schedules, we fell in love fast and knew we would spend the rest of our lives together. We even passed the ultimate test by surviving COVID quarantine together, while I was studying for my upcoming boards and we found out we were expecting. On July 9th Terry organized for a friend to take me out of the house for a "study break" while he prepared the house with balloons, rose petals, and tea light candles. I walked in the front door to Terry down on one knee and he proposed! We promptly finished packing up our home and moved to Erie, PA the next weekend to start my fellowship. Over the next year, we moved back and forth between Erie and Pittsburgh every 3 months. We welcomed our beautiful son Theodore into the world (3 weeks early!) on November 28th, 2020. Life just keeps getting better, and we cannot wait to move back home to Michigan at the end of July and to finally tie the knot in October.
